Bullets Solve Nothing, they only create more enemies

Israel's actions are as wrong headed as they are wrong. Sewing Gaza with blood and death will not produce stability or security. It will only create sorrow, anger and more people bent on Israel's destruction.

We can help the people of Gaza and help Israel to stop by talking to our elected officials:

Bush Cheney Year End Give-a-way

It's a sell-a-thon, but their selling our stuff and pocketing the cash. Not good.

Christmas Presents from W and the Dark Lord

What's the Bush administration getting you for Christmas?

Here's a hint: it's worse than a hunting trip with the Vice President.

  • Perchlorate in your drinking water (makes it taste like rockets)
  • Uranium mining by the Grand Canyon (more to see on vacation)
  • And so much more...
Take a look at the list and see what rules are being rewritten, then call your legislator to demand oversight or at least some wrapping paper and a bow....

Move Along, Nothing to See Here...

No really, there's nothing to see because its been redacted.

So, the Bush administration takes our money and spends it on Wall Street to save the economy. Then they hide the details from us?

Hell, it wasn't like we'd probably read the fine print anyway. Now that they've tried to hide it, I really want to know...

Osama & the IRA (your IRA)

They scared us with Osama and we got the Patriot act. Good bye Constitution.
They try to scare us with the Great Depression. Good bye IRA.

Osama and the depression are phantoms. They're as scary as the closet monster. The "they" are the really scary ones. We need to say "no" loudly and then vote "they" out of office.

Priceless

Take the inauguration route away from us...I think not

The park service is trying to privatize Pennslyvannia Avenue and allow the Presidential Inaugural Committee to have exclusive use. The inauguration parade route must be accessible by the people because it is we who have paid for it and we who have elected the President. We have the right of assembly and of free speech. I am tired of organizations subverting this right and creating "free speech zones." The entire nation is a free speech zone. While I can't yell 'fire" in a crowded theater, I and my fellow citizens can assemble peacefully in support or opposition to any political leader wherever they happen to be. It is that involvement that keeps our democracy alive and healthy. The park service can not not take our roads and our inauguration from us. We paid for it and we have inalienable rights to access.

Here is how you can send your comment:

1: Go to www.regulations.gov

2. In the search box in the middle of the page, enter "ANSWER Coalition" with the quotation marks (this is very important!)and click on the "go" button.

3. Click on the link "Send a Comment or Submission" which will appear just under the regulation title, "Special Regulation: Areas of the National Park System, National Capital Region."

4. Enter your name and address and comments on the form and click on the button "Next Step" at the bottom of the page. You can leave blank or ignore fields such as "Organization Name" or "Government Agency Type" if you are filing on behalf of yourself and not on behalf of an organization or government agency and you are not required to give your email address.

5. You will be given a page on which you may review your comment. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page. You are done!

Shocking: The Telcos that Spied on us got juicy contracts

Qwest refused the NSA when asked to be an accomplice to illegal spying. Qwest was investigated for a variety of questionable practices. The other telcos sold us out to the NSA and they got billions in nice juicy contracts. Shocking, but not surprising.

The Bush administration is using government like a weapon and a bribe. Let's take the weapon out of the President's hands before he puts an eye out. Let's start down the road to impeachment for both the President and the Vice President.

We are a nation of for and by the people. We are not a nation of special interests and oligarchs being bullied and bullying to get their way at the public's expense. If the government cannot see this then we need to send them packing or to jail.

BPSOD is a Serious condition that you should discuss with your doctor

If you have any of the following symptoms you may be suffering a serious condition known as BPSOD:
1. Your medications don't treat your symptoms
2. You have experienced life threatening side effects after taking medication which the FDA deemed "safe."
3. No medical options for your condition (it isn't profitable to treat).
4. You repeatedly hear voices telling you that about a new syndrome that you must discuss with your doctor.
5. You want that little purple pill regardless of what it does.
6. You have recently changed medications and the new one is the same as the old except for the price.
7. You discovered that your regulatory agency is really working for the drug makers and is pressured to ignore safety concerns.

BPSOD, or Big Pharma Screwed-Over Disiorder, is a serious condition which you should discuss with your Doctor, your regulator and anyone else who will listen.

Our drugs are not as safe as we'd like to think they are. Back in 1992, to speed drugs through the regulatory process, the FDA started sharing the financial burden of drug approval with the drug companies. Big Pharma paying the FDA to review the drugs sets up an economic incentive to release drugs regardless of whether they address the medical condition they claim to treat or are dangerous. We need to take back our health care system because it could literally be killing us.

Don't Spy on My Backyard

House Minority Leader John Boehner is ok with spying as long as no one is spying on him. Boehner has worked to quash our right to hold the telcos accountable for their illegal spying on us. When someone spied on Mr. Boehner he sued and got more than $1 million in damages. Let's send this him packing in November.

General Confusion: Lying our way into war

Remember all those talking heads on the news? There were Generals and Colonels telling us how the President's plan was a good idea and was working. Alas, they weren't necessarily telling the truth or had just come from a koolaid drinking session.

Most of these guys worked for defense contractors and were threatened, cajoled, bribed or fooled into being media-force-multipliers. Foot soldiers in the Bush-Cheney Propaganda army, they misrepresented the facts and helped skew public opinion. Big media either knew or was just incompetent (either is plausible) and we got lied to.

We Cannot Allow a Fear Gap!!!

Once again the government is not managing renewable resources effectively.  By overusing the terrorists and needlessly hyping the bird flu the American people have ceased to be afraid.   We cannot allow a fear gap.  I'm sure that Dick Cheney is working hard to find something new for us to fear.    Thank god that  in the mean time the Air Force is out in front making stuff up to scare us and not letting the truth get in the way.
